John 5:24

Contrary to popular opinion, eternal life is not just a future possibility; it can be a present possession. Listen to Jesus' words. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, he who hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).

Do you have eternal life?

Jesus said anyone who hears the Word of God and is believing in Father who sent Him, HAS eternal life. Notice the word is in the present tense. He didn't say, "might" have eternal life, or "could" have eternal life. He said, "HAS eternal life." And, that person is no longer moving into condemnation, but is already passed from death to life.

Believe

Eternal life is not obtained by doing good works, like getting baptized, being good, or going through some rituals. Eternal life is obtained by believing upon Christ.
